A scenic street in Adelaide with blooming jacaranda trees lining the road. Perfect for travel and nature themes.

Brisbane West Local was created because something was missing. The western suburbs have brilliant local cafes, inspiring small business owners, incredible parks, and a genuine community spirit — but there was no single place to find any of it.

Recommendations lived and died in Facebook group posts. Great local businesses stayed invisible while national chains took their customers. Parks were unfindable unless you already knew they existed.

So we built the place that should have existed years ago. Brisbane West Local is the community resource for everyone who lives in the western suburbs — whether you’ve been here for twenty years or twenty days.

Why us

Why locals choose Brisbane West Local
over everything else.

01
It actually knows the western suburbs.
This is not a national directory that happens to cover Kenmore. Every listing, every park, every event guide, and every story is specifically about the western suburbs. When you search for a physio near Kenmore Village, you get a physio near Kenmore Village — not every physio in Brisbane.
02
The businesses Facebook groups miss.
Tutors, home bakers, music teachers, bookkeepers, dog walkers — the people operating out of their home study who never appear on Yellow Pages or Google Maps. Brisbane West Local is the only directory that lists them alongside shopfronts, because they are just as much a part of this community.
03
Your search results don’t disappear.
Ask for a recommendation in the 4069 Facebook group and it’s buried by morning. Search Brisbane West Local and the answer is there next month, next year, and every time a new family moves into the area and needs exactly what you found.
04
The parks guide you’ve been waiting for.
2,193 Brisbane parks. Filterable by off-leash dog areas, fenced enclosures, playgrounds, BBQ facilities, toilets, shade, and more. There is nothing else like it anywhere — built specifically because families and dog owners deserved better than a Google Maps search.
From the community

What western suburbs locals are saying.

We’ve been in Kenmore for fourteen years and nobody online knew we existed. Brisbane West Local published our story and within a week customers were telling us they’d found us on the site. It felt like the community finally knew we were here.

I’d been asking around for a reliable maths tutor for months. Found one through Brisbane West Local in about two minutes — someone who lives three streets away. I don’t know why something like this didn’t exist sooner.

Local resident
Chapel Hill · Parent of two

We moved from Singapore eight months ago and still felt like visitors. The suburb guides on Brisbane West Local answered questions I didn’t even know to ask. It felt like someone finally handed us the local knowledge we’d been missing.
